CURRENT WEATHER CONDITIONS WILL BE UPDATED ON THIS PAGE.

The safety of our athletes, spectators and volunteers is our primary concern. In the event of inclement weather, every attempt will be made to preserve the safety of everyone involved, and complete the race as scheduled.

General Weather Policy:

In the event of:

Lightning- the event will be postponed by 30 minutes. If lightning is closer than 6 miles away, then the tri will be postponed by 30 minutes. Families should wait in their cars or anther building for safety. If the lightning continues to be within 6 miles after or withing the  30 minutes, the delay will be reassessed based on the most current weather conditions. Due to the Public Pool schedule it is possible to delay the event up to 1 ½ hours without concerns for cancellation. 

Rain- the Triathlon will NOT be canceled due to rain alone.

Tornado warning- The race will be canceled in the event of a tornado warning. 

ENTRY FEES WILL NOT BE REFUNDED IN THE EVENT OF CANCELLATION

If for any reason the course must be cleared during the triathlon, notification will be given to the volunteers along the course. They will inform the athletes in their area and guide the triathletes either to the start or to designated shelter areas.

The Race Directors and local law enforcement have the authority to cancel the event.  If threatening weather conditions do force the cancellation of the event, we regret that no refunds can be provided as the funds are used in support of and preparation for the event day.
